Leo Baekeland Leo Baekeland One of the great opportunities we have as academic scientists is to work together intensively with many different researchers on common projects for a certain period of time and to offer the necessary skills for their future career.

With many of the PhD-students and post-doctoral fellows, collaborations and personal contacts continue both with the research group and with the former lab colleagues. This alumni list, ordered according to the departure date (starting in 2003), is aiming to intensify such future contacts.

On the right, you see one of the most famous PhD students of Ghent University, Leo Baekeland, the inventor of Bakelite, the first fully synthetic commercial polymer.

Of course, we can only keep this list updated with the help of the alumni. Please click here to update your info.
